Who are we?
Lepogo Travel Solution (PTY) LTD is a recently established E-hailing service which was designed by the Mbombela 6 Taxi Industry members using their years of collective Public Transport Industry experience. The technical expertise was provided by SIYAZI and the intention is for Lepogo to become the most trusted Public Transport service operating in South Africa. The involvement of Taxi Operators in the design process made it easier to design a service that is intuitive and will respond to the market needs and will be legally compliant.

Lepogo is a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) driven solution that is in line with the National Land Transport Act No. 5 of 2009, herein referred to as the NLTA aimed at providing a safe, affordable and convenient option to improve public transportation for commuters.
Over many years the Taxi Industry has been opposed to the 4IR revolution passenger transportation services (e-Hailing). This was because Taxi Operators who own Minibus Taxis and Metered Taxis have viewed e-Hailing as competition which was stealing their passengers because of the ease with which passengers are able to access the service at any time of day. To an extent this remains true. There is also the fact that e-Hailing in its current form has bypassed a number of provisions of the NLTA which Taxi Operators have to comply with and this has contributed to Taxi Operators opposing e-Hailing.
Lepogo e-Hailing service is the only solution developed by and for the local Taxi Industry to align them with the 4IR developments regarding passenger transportation service.
Local Taxi Industry has played and continues to play a huge part in the lives of South Africans through generations by providing the most reliable public transportation services across the country and beyond our borders. It is about time all our efforts should be aimed at aligning the Taxi Industry with the 4IR passenger transportation services (e-Hailing). The time has also come for the Taxi Industry to adapt to changes brought about by technological advancements while protecting its business by being in charge of public transportation services of all types.
The main purpose of this application is to uplift the Local Taxi Industry while following the provisions of South African legislation as stated in the NLTA. Lepogo e-Hailing service has been developed to solve a variety of the problems South Africa is currently facing relating to e-Hailing which impact negatively on the safety of passengers who use the service and the protection of e-Hailing operators from violence brought about by misunderstanding the system.
